Russian antitrust again delays move on fine for Google to May 31
MOSCOW, May 11 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has again delayed until May 31 a decision on the amount of fine for Google, which was earlier found guilty of abusing its dominant position on the market of preinstalled application stores, Yelena Zayeva, director of the service’s IT regulation department, said Wednesday.
“Consideration of the case on administrative violations of Google was postponed until May 31, 2016, due to a request of the respondent,” Zayeva said.
In late April, the service’s Director Igor Artemyev said that its fine for Google would be much lower than the one threatening the company in Europe.
In 2015, the European Commission opened an antitrust investigation against Google, which can face a fine exceeding U.S. $6 billion.
